EXPERIENCE:
Ms. LaVine earned a certificate in general Intellectual Property law from DePaul University College of Law. At DePaul, she worked in the Technology and Intellectual Property Legal Clinic, providing pro bono services to clients in the areas of Copyright, Trademark, and Patent law. She was the Acting-Editor-in-Chief and Legislative Updates Editor for the DePaul-Lawyers for the Creative Arts Journal of Art & Entertainment Law. Ms. LaVine was a contributor to the three-volume treatise on domain name law, McGrady on Domain Names.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. LaVine was a journalist at the NBC affiliate WNCN NBC 17 News in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a Media Coordinator at CNN in Atlanta, Georgia. She is also a graduate of the Second City Training Center’s writing program.

Ms. LaVine is the ABA YLD liaison to the Forum on Communications Law for the 2008-2010 term and is a volunteer at the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Trademark Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Ms. LaVine is licensed to practice in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
